Job Description and Qualifications
Job Description- The Inclusion Unit is a part of the Austin Recreation and Parks branch. In this job, you have to be willing to work with kids with disabilities. You will help assist staff in redirecting your participants, as well as providing a Positive Behavior Support for any participant that you have. Every week, you will get an assignment of your participant at a Recreation Center in Austin. We provide opportunities so that everyone may participate, and have a fun summer. You will be trained in Anger De-escalation, Trust Based Relationships Intervention, Positive Behavior Support, as well as other training.

Qualifications:
- Experience implementing adapted recreational activities to individuals and groups of individuals with disabilities from ages 6 years old to adult
- Knowledge of games, arts and crafts, sports, dancing, cooking, swimming, etc.
- Experience in leading and/or instructing one or more of the following types of recreation programming:
- Recreational Games and Activities (Outdoors)
- Sports/Athletic Programs
- Outdoor Recreation
- Arts and Crafts
- Team Building
- Therapeutic Recreation/Inclusion/Special Education

- The pay is $13.50, and you will work a good amount over 400 hours. 40 hour weeks, 10 weeks of camp, and training.

Knowledge, Skills and Achievements
- Knowledge of youth programs and activities.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in problem solving.
- Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
- Ability to work with children and teens, including youth with special needs.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with the City and the public.
- Work under two CTRS's (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist).
- Lots of experience working with a diverse population of kids.
- Introduction into TBRI (Trust Based Relationships Intervention).
- Introduction of Positive Behavior Support.
- Satori to Managing Alternatives Aggression (SAMA) Certified.
